On the 18th of January the Smurfs
visited Ladybrand Primary School. There
was magic in the air.
The Smurfs made their way across the field, even the donkeys were all
“Smurfed” out.
The blue team was very eager and participated in a lot of items. Every blue team athlete knew and
sang the theme song
enthusiastically. The Smurf was well
mannered and helpful during the day.
All though the Smurfs did not win, the most important thing was that we
had fun! It was an
amazing day for all of us. Go Smurfs!
BLOU SPAN SMURFS!!!
Geelspan het gees!
-Louise van Blerk
“Roll out the carpet, roll out the mats!!”
GEEL SPAN!!!
There was no limits!
– Lisa Coetzee The limited edition crew looked amazing! There was a great atmosphere as the Red team entered the gates. We sang out loud and everyone participated. The pavilion was covered in red decorations and we had a great start. The Red team had a very strong group of athletes and with the cheers coming from the pavilion, we were determined to win. The hot sun did not stop us from performing, and at the end of the day, we won the cup! It was a wonderful experience

Ladybrand Primary school was awash with pure excitement as 71 new Grade 1 pupils were welcomed and ushered into their school careers on the 9th of January. The most grade 1’s were very brave next to their nervous, yet excited, parents and entered the school yard with a big smile. Some children even looked braver than their parents. After assembly the children were greeted warmly by their two new teachers. All the learners were allocated to their designated seats with emotional parents having the opportunity to take pictures and kiss their little ones goodbye.
